NFL | Plaxico Burress applies for work release
Free-agent WR Plaxico Burress has applied for a work release from prison again, reports Melissa Grace, of The New York Daily News. He is nine months into a two-year sentence on gun charges. Burress applied for a work release last November, but his request was denied and he lost the appeal. A decision will not be made for several weeks.

Cardinals OG Lutui becomes US citizen (AP)
Arizona Cardinals guard Deuce Lutui is among more than 200 people sworn in as newly naturalized U.S. citizens. Lutui was born in the South Pacific nation of Tonga, but grew up in the Phoenix suburb of Mesa. The new citizens took the Oath of Allegiance on Friday at the South Mountain Community College gymnasium.

The New York Daily News is reporting that Plaxico Burress has applied for work release for the second time during his two-year prison sentence on gun charges. The former New York Giants wide receiver and Super Bowl hero originally applied for work release in November, but it was denied by the New York Department of Correctional Services because of the nature of his crime.
